Chechen-Akkin (or Akkiy)
is the highlander people, one of the oldest division of Vainakhs.
They lived in the area of Gekhy upriver between Chechen and
Ingushetia – it's the branch of Caucasian ridge on the
contemporary Chechen territory. They speak Akkin dialect of Chechen
language. At present Akkin communities live in Chechnya, Dagestan,
Ingushetia, Georgia and Syria.
